Mission:
The Traffic Unit's mission is to improve traffic safety through enforcement and education.

Goal:
The Traffic Unit is dedicated to assisting the department in achieving one of its top 5 goals, which is improving traffic safety. 

The duties of Traffic Officers include:
Investigating accidents;
Reconstructing major accident scenes;
Coordinating and assisting with community events such as parades and road construction projects;
Providing funeral escorts within the city limits; and
Conducting studies of traffic issues.

The Traffic Unit will provide additional support to the Patrol Division and assist other law enforcement agencies when requested.
