Our Mission

The Enterprise Police Department's mission is to work together to provide the highest quality of service in a professional manner to all citizens. EPD pledges to safeguard and respect the rights of all, and we dedicate ourselves to preventing and solving crimes through innovative law enforcement techniques.

The department promotes an attitude of genuine concern and empathy for others. The department also seeks to encourage crime prevention through education and active involvement with Enterprise residents.

About the City of Enterprise Police Department

The Enterprise Police Department exists as the primary law enforcement body for the City of Enterprise, Alabama. The department, which serves a population of approximately 25,000 people, is comprised of 55 sworn officers and 19 civilian employees. The department utilizes a variety of programs to ensure the safety of our citizenry to include K-9 Officers, Bicycle Patrol, and Neighborhood Watch.

Additionally, the Enterprise Police Department participates in nontraditional Community Policing. The department believes in staying involved with the community, whether through participating in local events such as the Annual Children's Festival, or working to educate school-age children in the city schools about drugs and general safety.

How do I pick up my criminal or accident report?
Reports are available for pickup in the Detective Division, located in the front hallway of City Hall. Reports cost $3 and you must have your photo identification to sign for a report. The police department accepts cash, local check, or money order. If you do not live near Enterprise, you may request a copy of your report by mail. You will need to send a written and signed request for your report, a copy of your photo identification, and a self-addressed and stamped envelope to:

Who can pick up a report?
Criminal reports can only be picked up by the victim listed on the report, an individual who has legal power of attorney over the victim, or the complainant listed on the report. Accident reports are public record and may be picked up by anyone.
When will my report be ready?
Criminal reports are usually ready the next day; however, officers have up to 3 business days from the occurrence of the incident or offense to file a criminal report. Accident reports are usually ready within three days of the accident; however, officers have up to 14 days to file an accident report.
What should I do if I think my report is incorrect?
If you believe your report is incorrect, you should speak with either the officer who filed the report or with his or her supervisor.
What should I do if I need to get my fingerprints taken?
The patrol clerk or any police officer can take your fingerprints in the Patrol Division. You must bring your own fingerprint cards. Cost for fingerprinting is $3; the police department accepts cash, local check, or money order.
Who do I speak to if I have a question or complaint regarding a crossing guard?
Questions or complaints regarding crossing guards are handled by the Patrol Clerk or the Patrol Captain.
What do I do if I need a background check?
The City of Enterprise only performs local background checks. Local background checks are performed by the Enterprise Municipal Court.
